Elder Robertha E. Johnson was born in Harlem, New York, and raised in a loving family with six siblings in Wyandanch, New York in the section affectionately known as, “the Southside,” and “11798.” Elder Robertha received a Master of Theological Studies degree with a Concentration in Biblical Studies from Regent University’s School of Divinity, a Certificate in Christian Ministry from New York Theological Seminary, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in Education from New York Institute of Technology. In 2020, Elder Robertha retired from Stony Brook University after 20 years of service.
Elder Robertha received and accepted her divine calling to teach, share, and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, honoring the Scripture, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,” Ephesians 4:11-12. As an Ordained Elder of Grace Community Church in Amityville, New York, she serves on the Ministerial Staff, as a teacher in the educational ministries of Sunday School and Bible Study, Women’s Ministry, Scholarship Committee, and is the Coordinator of Grace Family Prayer. She is affectionately known as “Nehemiah on the Wall”.
Elder Robertha enjoys gardening, gospel music, sewing, traveling, and reading. Robertha is a widow and lives in Central Islip, New York. She has two married children: Tonya (Chris) and Jermaine (Toya) and a granddaughter, Christina. One of Robertha’s favorite Scriptures is, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.
