Men's Fellowship

President: Deacon Willie Lanham

The Grace Community Church Men’s Fellowship Ministry is a ministry that builds up and help the men of the church, while providing an avenue of outreach to men in the community.

This is accomplished by:

  • Regularly praying for the men in the church, and men in our community
  • By planning events for fellowship and special projects for men only
  • Planning regular ministry meetings for accountability, building relationships, and
  • Spiritual encouragement through prayer, devotions and sharing.

Women's Fellowship - Willing Workers

President: Sis. Sandra Hopkins-Ouedraogo

Willing Workers Ministry: Mother Thelma Sharp

The Grace Community Church Women’s Fellowship Ministry is a community of women who gather to fellowship, mentor, and connect in a safe, supportive environment. We engage with God while uplifting and encouraging one another.

We believe in the 4 Pillars of Women’s Ministry:

  • Study – We must provide women the opportunity to study God’s Word.
  • Service – Women need opportunities to serve others.
  • Support – Women need safe places where they can find Biblically-sound support.
  • Social – Women benefit by regularly meeting together with other believers.

We create events that nurture inclusion of all women. Some of those events include:

  • Annual Friendsgiving
  • Book Club
  • Virtual cooking events
  • Painting Parties ...
  • Planning various fundraising events

The Willing Workers Ministry serves in the following areas:

  • Assists the Missionaries with Communion on the first Sunday
  • Works with the Outreach Ministry
  • Is an integral part of the Women’s Fellowship
  • Assists with all fundraising events.
  • Assists wherever they are needed.

Willing Workers endeavor to continuously spread the gospel.

Youth

Youth Minister:  Elder Crystal Pough

The Grace Community Generation Impact Youth Ministry is an age-specific, faith-based ministry that provides the spiritual and cultural training ground for those ranging in ages from 6 -18. Striving to promote involvement and engagement, we seek to grow young people in our church and connect them with other young people within our community.

Grace’s Youth Ministry is vital to helping the children and teens to integrate into the larger community in the intergenerational context of the church. This vibrant ministry helps the church to stay relevant. Generation Impact also seeks to draw those not already part of the church and include them in the deeper narrative of God’s plan. A child’s simplistic, unhindered faith is an example to believers of all ages. This feeds the mutual exchange of faith, hope, and love.

The theme scripture of the ministry is found in 1 Timothy 4:12, which says, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”

Nursery

Director:  Mother Roberta Turner

Grace Community Church Nursery Ministry provides proper care and nurturing to toddlers and children in the early childhood grades during church our services. Parents are greeted and welcomed, while helping the little ones to settle in. Meticulous planning goes into the Bible lessons. The Nursery and Primary teams organize and lead activities, ensuring that the children are thriving in a safe environment.

A person’s commitment to the church is often formed early. Reading and praying with little learners is integral, while exhibiting Christ-like patience and love. Events of the day are related to the Bible lessons on early levels that our children can comprehend. Subsequently, upon picking up their little ones, discussion with the parents about the lessons that were presented that day, along with the provision of tools and materials they will need to support and reinforce those lessons is shared to grow their knowledge of Jesus Christ. In other words, our children’s ministry is also a family ministry for the growth and upbuilding of the Kingdom of God.

Music Ministry

Music Director: Bro. MJ Valeus

Music is a very powerful medium. However, it is powerless without the anointing and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Here at Grace, it is essential that we entreat God’s people to worship and praise Him for all that He is, and all He is inspiring us to do and become for His divine purpose and glory. It is through the intimacy of prayer and worship that we grow closer to our Lord.

For this reason, our music team has a passion for setting the atmosphere to ever exalt God, invoke His presence, exhort the saints, and influence the lost through evangelism of Word via music. This includes the selection and coordinating of songs with sermonic topics and seasonal themes, as well as leading congregational singing during regular services. It is our heartfelt desire to prayerfully continue to obey the direction of the Holy Spirit and honor the vision of the House which is to reach the lost and connect the broken to a path of wholeness in Jesus Christ. May we ever continue to do our part through the vehicle of Worship and Praise!

Outreach

President:  Elder Nadra Lanham

The Grace Community Church Outreach Ministry helps our church to spread God’s Word and share His love both within our church and community. We reach out to impact lives through urgent times of hurt, devastation, and despair as well as to evangelistically touch souls through the ongoing service of partnering with local organizations to aid families in need. These services include the supply of food, clothing, volunteering, and the giving of mental health resources.

Paramount to our calling to reach beyond the walls of our church is the purpose of connecting and the sharing of ideas and/or practices with those of other organizations, groups, and specific audiences to aid in building a stronger, healthier, more resilient community at large.

Christian Education

Sunday School

Director: Elder Crystal Pough

Grace Community Church Sunday School teaches the Word of God so that our members and guests are led to salvation and a victorious lifestyle through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Sunday School Ministry expounds on the Bible in ways that are foundational, relevant, and meaningful to everyday living. All ages are welcome.

In addition, for the children, Grace Community Sunday School:

  • Is a creative, inviting course of basic training for young Christians --learning about God’s love, God’s plan, and God’s expectations of His people.
  • Surrounds children with a faith family that knows and cares for them.
  • Raises up young students in the knowledge of the Bible and the love of God, enabling them to become full participants in Kingdom life.

Grace Community Church Bible Study

Director: Elder Robertha Johnson

As believers, we have the ongoing responsibility to grow in sound doctrine, which is rooted clearly in the trustworthy Word of God. This makes for a healthy church. Biblical education plays a vital part in every Christian’s life by going into a deeper understanding of God’s Word, impacting our relationships both with Jesus and the world in which we live.

Grace Community Church Bible Study is an avenue in which believers can grow in a Christ-centered lifestyle and be a living witness to the world.

Media Ministry

Headed by: Elder William Satchell

The media ministry, although working behind the scenes, is a vital part of the success of the church service. With a passion to produce professional quality programming via video recording, Zoom, and social media, the team is hard at work maintaining the church’s positive image through the camera, sound engineering, technology, and publication. Special projects and church wide events are their forte. All praise and glory to God for the cooperation and coordination of this progressive troop that helps to undergird Grace’s services.

Deacon

President:  Deacon Willie Lanham

The Grace Community Church Deacon Ministry proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ through a life of service and is dedicated to the Word of God, prayer, and the principle of justice to both the congregation and the community. With compassion and dedication, the Grace Community deacons attend to the physical needs of the local church, including keeping needed inventory replenished. Visitations to ailing church members who are hospitalized, (especially the brotherhood), those who are incarcerated, residing in nursing homes and hospices, etc., are a vital part of this ministry.

Critical to the role of the deacon board is also the guarding and support to the ministry of the Pastor, Overseer and Ministerial Staff, while helping to maintain unity in the local church community.

Trustees

President:  Sis. Shirley Freeman

Acts 6:3 KJV “Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.” The trustees of the church help to ensure the handling of all church funds and property. They must have a passion for good stewardship. Representing the church in legal matters, reviewing procedures for the church’s financial management, and being the custodians of all church property is no small feat. Trustworthiness, maturity, dependability, and discretion is the call of the day.

Ephesians 5:15 KJ “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise…” Suffice it to say, we gratefully acknowledge this divine appointment with prayerful leading of the Holy Spirit and careful execution.

Ushers

President: Deacon Willie Lanham

The Grace Community Church Ushers warmly greet and make the members and guests feel welcomed at church.  Through gracious assistance with seating, assisting the elderly and disabled, along with collecting offering and distributing literature as needed. Our Hospitality Team helps to ensure a safe environment in which to worship. The tasks include ministry for special events such as: funeral/homegoing and memorial services, special musical events, etc. exemplifying kindness, compassion, patience, and a prayerful spirit.

Regular meetings are held to keep the usher staff informed, as well as creating fundraising events that support our financial obligations.
